Green Elephant Biotech is pioneering the use of Polylactic Acid (PLA) for labware. Green Elephant Biotech redefines the adherent cell manufacturing and is the world's first company to offer consumables for laboratories made from plant-based plastics.
The first product is the CellScrew®, a novel cell culture system designed for the expansion of adherent cells. The inner structure, consisting of ten concentric cylinders and Archimedes' Screws, distributes media and gas consistently through rotation, providing an excellent growth environment for the cells. A special TC-treatment creates an ideal surface for cell attachment and growth.
The compact design allows for easy handling, saving incubator space, and reduction of CO₂ emissions. The CellScrew® is sustainably made from plant-based Polylactic Acid (PLA) and is available in two sizes: CellScrew®10K (10,000 cm²) and CellScrew®6K (6,000 cm²).
Green Elephant's next product will be a sustainable standard consumable made of PLA, launching next year.
